Hi, my name is John Hamman (he/him) and I am an LGBTQ+ ally. I built this site after a two-year journey of discovering the truth in God’s word about homosexuality and the church. I am not an ordained theologian but I have served as a children’s pastor for a few years and other leadership positions in our church. I grew up with the typical understanding of any good Southern Baptist, that Homosexuality was the worst of the sins and perversions. I couldn’t have been more wrong. As I grew up and met many men and women in the LGBTQ community I started to question what I was taught about homosexuality. I saw loving committed God fearing couples and individuals. I later went to a charismatic church and began to witness LGBTQ Christians who were using the Gifts of the Spirit. This rocked my mind since it directly contradicted what I was taught.  So with this information I started a two year journey of re-evaluating translations, doing research, and seeking God for the truth.  This site is the results of my findings.  It is one of many sites out there like this. The difference with this site is that I tried to make this a quick and easy to follow resource and point you the visitor to more detailed resources from people much smarter than me! 

The reality is I am just a regular guy. I am not the first nor the only one to come to this conclusion, as you can see the countless books that address this in the reference section.

There are some great resources for academic approaches to this truth but they can be overwhelming and take a while to cover. I saw a need to spread the good news in a quick, simple, non-complex, or overwhelming way. I suggest you start here THEN dive into the academics of it all.

This site’s purpose is to try to bring freedom to those in the LGBTQ+ community who have been recipients of the church’s condemnation and wrongful anti-gay teachings. If you want to support me in this effort, I do not take donations but recommend you donate to the 1964 Movie project.
